Service Overview
Hillside View is a newly refurbished two-bed residential service, dedicated to supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities and associated needs. We take pride in offering bespoke care packages, that are tailored to the unique requirements of each individual. Our person-centred care approach ensures that everyone receives personalised, compassionate care in a warm and welcoming environment. With a focus on enhancing quality of life and achieving positive outcomes, our dedicated team is committed to helping each individual achieve their fullest potential. The home has been designed with complex learning disabilities in mind and can be adapted to meet the needs of the individual.
Admission Criteria
Hillside View supports:
- Adults, 18 years +
- Primary diagnosis of a learning disability
- Individuals likely to have additional needs and/or display behaviours
that challenge - We are unable to accept emergency admissions
Philosophy of Care
We understand that getting to know an individual – their personality, goals, and behaviours – is key to providing person-centred, outcome-focused support. This is achieved through a robust and detailed assessment process that includes:
- Person-centred planning and positive behavioural support to enable individuals to maintain and develop skills leading to greater independence.
- Providing services that represent good value for money by demonstrating measurable, effective outcomes and progression.
- Ensuring our colleagues have opportunities for tailored training and development to meet individual needs.
- Ensuring that compliance and audit systems support service delivery and constantly drive improvement and embed quality in everything we do.
- We work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to meet the needs of the individual.

- You will receive high-quality person-centred care from our dedicated, passionate, and experienced team, which includes a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and 24-hour care from Support Workers.
- We will support you to ensure that you stay in close contact with family and individuals who are important to you.

- Access to a range of local facilities including swimming, bingo, cycling, restaurants and a weekly farmer’s market
The Surrounding Area
Hillside View is located in the hamlet of Llangwyfan in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The nearby village of Llandyrnog provides access to local amenities which include: a local church, town hall, general store and public house. The location offers the benefits of tranquillity as well as excellent opportunities for exercise and observing local wildlife. It is also within minutes of a main road through North Wales, putting the whole region within easy reach from the mountains of Snowdonia to the North Wales coast and beyond.
Registered Manager
Michaela Vallance, Registered Manager
Michaela has worked for MHC since 2013. She has over 15 years’ experience in managing and supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Epilepsy and Mental Health within residential and community services.
Michaela holds a QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management, NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and is registered with Social Care Wales.
