Judging takes place for the annual Highfield in Bloom competition.
We all look forward to this time of year when residents and staff from across the services get involved with the annual Highfield in Bloom competition.
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Highfield Park’s picturesque backdrop is perfectly complimented by the lovingly maintained gardens, pots and planters of each home.
Learning and Development Manager, Margaret Shannon judged the entries on the 30th August.
1st – Lodge
“An original front garden made from re-cycled materials including tyres and cans, and a clever use of an old wheelbarrow. A variety of flowers and creativity used, particularly liked the decorated pebbles for borders.”
2nd – Orchard 1
“Pots of colour across the patio area and walls. A variety of flowers used and an impressive small tub of colourful chillies!”
Joint 3rd – Rose & Cherry
“Rose entered two raised beds which housed a colourful and symmetrical display of bedding plants.
Cherry entered a small raised bed displaying red, white and blue plants all in full bloom.”
Well done to all who took part in the competition
Look out for our sunflower and home grown vegetable competition- Judging for this takes place mid Sep.
